Tired of the same old banana spinach green smoothie over and over. Try this citrus spiked, creamy orange green smoothie for a change. It's light and refreshing yet keeps you full without making you feel bloated.

10whole raw cashews
1tablespoonflaxseed meal(optional)
Asneededfew ice cubes
Instructions
Put all the ingredients in a high powered blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
Notes
Flaxseed meal was not mentioned in the recipe. I tasted the smoothie without it and it definitely tasted better without the flaxseed but later add that too and blended it again and this had a different taste which I have got used to already after years of drinking green smoothies with flax seeds, chia seeds etc. So if you are a green smoothie newbie I would suggest omitting it and just try this orange green smoothie without the flaxseed.
If you prefer the smoothie a bit sweet add 1 or 2 dates. Again I like my green smoothies even if it is not sweet.
If you want to try the original recipe you will have to add 3 tablespoons of blood orange vinegar.
The recipe says it serves 2, but half of it won't be sufficient for breakfast for an adult. So I drank it all for breakfast. It exactly measured to 500 ml. The nutrition information is for 1 serving though. So if you drink the entire batch double the calories and other nutrients.
Use any non-dairy milk of your choice.
I wouldn't substitute anything else for the cashews because it gives a creamy taste and texture to this vegan green smoothie.
